a random trip around the ring this tuesday tells us:
Steph's gift from her brother shows how much he appreciates her following her calling. Lauren's gift to Steph suffered a cruel fate.
Seeking something's been busy in the kitchen.
Natty's looking for a copy of the PBS Special on a Benedictine Community.
Sr. Clare Joy, Sr. Steph and Sr. Marianne write about the feast of St. John.

It's a Sister Blogger Christmas
Sr. Bernadette joined the women and men religious of Rome for a papal audience. Sr. Marianne has a picture of Pope B16 looking very Christmasy.
Cathy is making socks that rock.
Sr. Ann is asking Advent questions.
Sr. Clare Joy answers some questions.
Cathy is Prancer. Natty is Dancer. Or is she cupid? I’m Donner. Or is it Donder??
Have a Blessed Christmas Everyone!!!!!

back by popular demand
A random trip around the ring told me that:
Cathy is pondering no church on Christmas
Sr. Clare Joy is enjoying rest and retreat
Seeking something is grumpy.
Mary Alternative is adopting a Katrina Pet
And today is not only the feast of the Immaculate Conception, it's Sr. Marianne Lorraine's birthday and my personal blog's blogoversary.

trip around the ring
We've got 15 sisterbloggers in the ring. I've added a 16th to the list on the right (compelled by love) who is still working on getting the ring code on her blog. But as I was updating the template figured I'd go ahead and add her.
Thought I'd take us on a quick random trip around the ring, borrowing an idea from the revgalblogpals. I don't think I'll have time to do this often, but if anyone was interested in doing periodic updates I could add you as a contributor to this blog.
Ann is visiting with vocation directors and exploring communities
Sr. Clare Joy is celebrating the Feast of St Andrew. So is Sr. Marianne.
Laurentina's got an interesting combo of Jesus & Merton. Speaking of Merton, check out seeking something while your'e at it.
Natty's got some pictures up of some groovy-type sisters at the SOA protest - including Nancy Murray, actor Bill Murray's sister who is a Dominican Sister.
Sr. Ann's got a big concert tonight!
Lisa remembers Dorothy Day. And I remember my mom.

more sister bloggers
I've added Sr. Bernadette in Rome to the list to the right.
If you've tried to join the web ring but haven't been approved, you need to add the webring code to your site before you're added in ringsurf. I've emailed the ring code to those waiting in the queue.
So far we're at 13 members, with two waiting (Compelled by Love and Flavor of the Month). Once they've got the ring code and are on the ringsurf list, I'll add them here.
I love the wide variety of Sister Bloggers who've joined the ring so far. We, all of us, make up the wondrous being that is the Church. And how great that we can connect in the blogosphere!
Very cool.

And then there were 12
12 Sisters (or sisters to be or friends of sisters) are now part of the ring!
Welcome to

Seeking Something

In response to a comment to the last post, no one does not need to be a professed sister to join the ring. But one should want to join the conversation of women in the church. Some of us are discerning vocations. Others might be lay associates of religious orders.
The more the merrier! We're less than a month old and we're already 12. That's pretty exciting I think.
Blessings on everyone's journeys.

welcome to the group
I've added two new folks to the web ring (Sister Mary Alternative & sexy innocent child woman) - links to the right.
Welcome!!!
Sister Mary Alternative expands our horizons to the Episcopal world.
I also wanted to be clear that all sisters/wanna be sisters are welcome here - those called to apostolic life and those called to a more contemplative life. Those who find themselves in the more "traditional" camp and those in the more "progressive" camp.
It's a big church, but we all have one thing in common ... being women in that church.
Also, if you know other sisters/wanna-be-sisters/sisters-in-training who you think might want to join the ring, send them our way.... The more the merrier!

A New Web Ring
When I first started blogging, there didn't seem to be many Catholic Sisters or women in discernment who blogged. Not that I could find anyway. Bit by bit I've discovered new friends. Inspired by the super fabulous Revgalblogpals (which is more inclusive and includes all women in ministry as well as their friends) I thought I'd start a web ring for "Sisters" or "Sisters-to-be" or "Wanna-be-Sisters" or "Hmmmm... Religious life, me?" type folks so it's easier to find each other and get connected.
There is a future for religious life. I know it in my heart. And would love to help further that conversation here in the blogosphere.
Interested?
Peace,
Susan Rose (aka Musings of a Discerning Woman)
